Father Antonious Salib

Father Antonious Salib was born Nader Youssef Salib on July 25, 1959, in Alexandria, Egypt. He immigrated to the U.S. in December of 1980.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from New Jersey City University and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Pope Shenouda III Theological Seminary in Jersey City, New Jersey. Additionally, he earned a Family Ministry Diploma from the South Diocese FMA Seminary.

Before his ordination, Father Antonious served at St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church in East Brunswick, New Jersey, from 1982 to 2006, acting as both a youth coordinator and Sunday School coordinator. From 2006 to 2009, he served at St. Mina’s Church in Holmdel, New Jersey, while working full-time as an Information Security Specialist at BNP Paribas.

On June 7, 2009, he was ordained by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III at St. Mark Cathedral in Cairo, Egypt, to serve at the newly established St. Mary and St. Kyrillos Coptic Orthodox Church in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. He celebrated his first liturgy there on July 25, 2009.

On January 28, 2024, Father Antonious was elevated to the rank of Hegumen by His Grace Bishop Karas.
